Classify the payment channel
Split in-person cards, invoiced cards or wallets, manually keyed cards and ACH. Count each payment once. The invoice total alone does not tell you whether a customer paid by card or bank transfer.
Amounts, terms and timelines are typical ranges for complete files, subject to underwriting and lender approval.
Compare all programsEducational content only, not a commitment to lend, and not tax, legal or accounting advice.
Browse the AcademyThe QuickBooks credit card processing fee depends on how your customer pays and your account terms. Start with Intuit's published rates, then check your own statement for discounts, additional services and payment mix. Estimate card and ACH costs separately, and compare a complete written proposal before changing providers. A lower advertised percentage can still cost more.
Use the same full month for sales, transactions and fees. A net bank deposit is not gross processing volume: fees, refunds, reserves and settlement timing can affect the difference. Identify each item before treating a deposit shortfall as a processing charge.
Split in-person cards, invoiced cards or wallets, manually keyed cards and ACH. Count each payment once. The invoice total alone does not tell you whether a customer paid by card or bank transfer.
Your current agreement and fee report may differ from standard public rates. Confirm the QuickBooks product, any negotiated discount, transaction charge, minimum or cap. Online and Desktop pricing should not be assumed identical.
Separate processing fees from optional deposit services, disputes, hardware and other account costs. Count any relevant gateway, recurring-billing or accounting-connector charge in the alternative. Include software only when its cost changes between choices.
Card fees divided by card volume describe card processing cost. Total card and ACH fees divided by their combined volume describe a blended payment cost. Adding lower-priced ACH can reduce the blended figure without changing your card price.
Intuit labels its rate table September 2026; checked 2026-11-03. These are reference rates, not your account's quote. Follow the source for current pricing and plan details.
| Payment or service | Published percentage | Check on your account |
|---|---|---|
| In-person card | 2.5% | Eligible reader or Tap to Pay transaction |
| Invoiced card or digital wallet | 2.99% | Payment method and invoice service used |
| Manually keyed card | 3.5% | How the transaction was entered |
| ACH bank payment | 1% | Bank-payment terms, including any account-specific limits |
| Optional instant deposit | 1.75% | Separate fee; confirm eligibility and the amount subject to it |
Do not treat a payment percentage as an all-in bill. Optional services and your agreement can change the total. Intuit advertises potential volume discounts; eligibility and the actual discount require confirmation, and do not establish that switching will save money.
Hypothetical card-only example: $40,000 in invoiced card payments and 160 transactions per month ($250 average ticket). The alternative is invented for arithmetic, not a partner quote, interchange markup or market average. Its percentage includes assumed card costs.
| Cost component | Published-rate illustration | Hypothetical alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Percentage component | 2.99% × $40,000 = $1,196 | 2.90% × $40,000 = $1,160 |
| Transaction charges | $0 in this published-rate illustration | $0.10 × 160 = $16 |
| Other monthly costs | $0 assumed; add actual charges | $60 assumed account / connector costs |
| Total monthly cost | $1,196 | $1,236: $40 more each month |
| One-time switching cost | $0 | $400 assumed |
| First-year total | $14,352 | $15,232: $880 additional cost |
This comparison is unfavorable: there is no first-year saving. It assumes unchanged activity and no other charges. Replace every assumption with your own statement and written proposal. The calculator below opens with this example; all-in statement mode avoids adding existing monthly fees twice.
In Intuit's Merchant Service Center, use Activity & Reports to find Transactions, Deposits and Fees for the same month. Intuit documents report export and fee details. Start with one complete month; seasonal or changing activity may require more.
| Bring to the secure room | What it resolves |
|---|---|
| Fee report and transaction summary | Channel volumes, transaction counts and actual charges |
| Deposit detail and refund / dispute entries | Differences between gross activity and usable bank deposits |
| Current pricing and optional-service terms | Discounts, settlement schedule and separate charges |
| QuickBooks version, payment tools and contracts | Integration, recurring billing, hardware and exit requirements |
Submit contact details on this page. Upload financial reports only after the desk opens your secure room. Do not send passwords, full card numbers or customer payment credentials.
The payment-mix illustration uses the dated public rates. Your statement controls if your pricing differs. The separate comparison below it is card-only: use card volume and average card ticket, not total receipts including ACH. Compare ACH separately on matching volume and terms.
Editable one-month example. Count each payment once. ACH is separate from cards; instant deposit adds a fee without adding sales.
Use the amount your account identifies as subject to the instant-deposit fee, not all monthly volume. Enter $0 if unused. Add only fees not already included and divide annual fees by 12. Include software only when its cost changes between options. Do not count fees twice.
Illustrative monthly cost
$1,398.00
| Component | USD |
|---|---|
| In-person cards | $250.00 |
| Invoiced cards | $598.00 |
| Keyed cards | $175.00 |
| ACH | $150.00 |
| Additional instant deposit | $175.00 |
| Other monthly costs | $50.00 |
The card rate excludes ACH, instant deposit and other costs. The total rate includes all entered components and is not a card-only effective rate. Neither should be compared with a quoted percentage without its other fees.
Review my actual statementPublished rates checked on 2026-11-03. Illustration, not a bill, offer or expected saving. Does not apply account-specific discounts, caps, minimums or transaction charges. Your current statement and agreement control. Amounts stay in this browser and are not sent or stored.
Enter the percentage, transaction fee and applicable other monthly costs. If using an all-in effective rate, set the transaction charge and other current costs to $0. Do not count a fee twice.
Editable assumptions, not a quote or a markup over interchange. Include expected card costs in the percentage and add charges not already included: gateway, platform, PCI, equipment, minimums, recurring, refunds or disputes. Divide annual charges by 12. With an all-in effective rate, set transaction and other costs to $0. For one-time switching, include termination, migration, setup and account overlap.
| Today | Illustrative | |
|---|---|---|
| Effective rate | 2.99% | 3.09% |
| Monthly fees | $1,196 | $1,236 |
| First-year cost including switching | $14,352 | $15,232 |
| Transactions / month | 160 | |
On these assumptions there is no first-year saving. Switching costs can outweigh a monthly saving. The review must show the unfavorable result in writing.
Compare my actual statementAssumes unchanged activity and fees. Switching is charged once in first-year and three-year totals; the monthly figure excludes it. Omitted costs change the result. Actual savings depend on your payment mix and written agreement. Not an offer.
A replacement processor is not automatically a drop-in replacement for QuickBooks Payments. Keep or change providers only after the written proposal identifies the supported product, workflow and costs.
Name Online or Desktop, the exact edition, connector, subscription and owner of support. Ask which sales, fees, refunds and deposits sync, how often and at what cost. Request a test reconciliation before cutover.
Confirm whether customers use a native invoice button, a separate payment link or a different checkout. Ask how payment status reaches the books and who corrects duplicates or unmatched deposits. Do not assume the existing invoice flow remains.
List subscriptions, stored payment methods, authorizations and readers. Confirm permitted migration or customer reauthorization, compatible hardware, purchase or lease terms and who pays for setup. Do not email stored card data.
Request initial and ongoing payout terms, reserves, holds, cancellation, renewal and termination costs. A faster quoted schedule is not a guarantee of available funds. Compare required features as well as the full first-year bill.
The public form collects contact details only. The desk requests financial reports in the separate secure room. A review does not require a loan application or obligate you to switch.
Name, business and how to reach you. Two minutes, no statement attached here: financial documents never travel through a contact form.
The desk opens a PIN-protected application room and asks for your most recent processing statement. One month is enough to start.
The statement is read with AI assistance and checked by the desk. The proposal's saving is computed from your volume and your effective rate. If it is not positive, the review says so instead of hiding it.
You see the proposed pricing, the estimated annual saving and every fee in writing. Accept and the partner handles the switch. Decline and nothing changes.
Potential processing savings are not cash already in your account. A merchant review does not release held deposits or guarantee financing. If you also need working capital, disclose payout delays and current obligations in the separate funding review and test payments against cash actually available.
Contact details only. The desk opens your secure room, you upload one processing statement there, and the proposal comes back with the estimated annual saving in writing.
Submitting this request is not a credit application, not a processing agreement and not an obligation to switch providers.

Intuit's current public rate table distinguishes in-person, invoiced and keyed payments. The dated table above shows those rates and ACH separately. Your product, agreement and any negotiated price determine your actual charges; optional services may add cost.
No. Classify a payment by how the customer actually paid. An invoice paid by bank transfer belongs in ACH, not invoiced card sales. Do not count it in both channels or use total card-and-ACH volume to calculate a card-only effective rate.
Do not assume so. The source lists instant deposit as a separate service. Verify your applicable fee, software subscription and other charges. Include a software cost in the comparison only if it changes between options, and never add the same charge twice.
Intuit advertises possible volume discounts, subject to its eligibility and terms. Ask for your actual offer in writing and compare keeping the current provider with switching. An advertised maximum discount is not your approved price or evidence of a saving.
That depends on the specific product and proposed connector. Require written confirmation of invoice links, payment status, refunds, fees, deposits, recurring payments and support. A general QuickBooks integration claim does not prove your workflow is supported.
Intuit's Merchant Service Center instructions identify Activity & Reports, then Fees. Use Transactions and Deposits for the same month to understand volume and settlements. The linked Intuit guide explains printing and exporting reports; upload the documents in your secure room.
Yes. Transaction, gateway, account and connector charges can outweigh a lower percentage. The worked example has $40 more monthly cost and $880 additional first-year cost after switching. It is a hypothetical unfavorable result, not a quote.
No. Requesting the contact-only review starts a written comparison. You can accept or decline in the existing secure room. Any processing contract or separate financing review requires its own terms and decision.
Include applicable termination, setup, migration, required hardware and account-overlap costs in the first year. Compare remaining lease obligations and ongoing subscriptions too. Money already spent is not a new switching cost unless it creates a continuing obligation.
Request the free review, upload a complete month's statement in your secure room, and compare total cost and compatibility. An unfavorable result should be clear before you decide.
Qualified Commercial is not a payment processor. Merchant processing proposals are prepared by a processing partner and presented in your secure application room. Estimated savings are computed from the volume and effective rate shown on your own statement compared with the proposed pricing, are estimates, and depend on card mix, sales channel, average ticket and the executed agreement. Requesting a review is not a credit application and creates no obligation to switch providers.
